Note that this defintion is not all about just feeling good. Sustainable wellbeing also requires good functioning. Accomplishment, meaning, purpose, and even good relationships can often lead to us feeling less than happy as we experience growing pains and are taken outside our comfort zones. Longer term wellbeing benefits will follow though, such as a sense of satisfaction with life.[1]
Wellbeing describes how satisfied we feel with our life, and how well we are able to get on with living. People with high wellbeing can think clearly and solve problems, are able to relax, feel optimistic about the future, and feel connected to other people.
