Supporting volunteers with experience of mental illness

A literature review aimed at the New Zealand volunteer sector. Volunteers with experience of mental illness share many of the same issues as those in paid employment; also many people with experience of mental illness use volunteering as a way of moving back into paid employment. This review focuses on barriers to utilising volunteers with experience of mental illness and addressing frequently asked questions that organisations may have when taking on such volunteers.

Workplace prevention of mental health problems

These guidelines consist of actions organisations can take to prevent common mental health problems in the workplace. It is hoped that they will be used to improve the practices of organisations as they work to reduce the risk of job stress and mental health problems in the workplace.
